Marguerite Mitchell Zink, 91, Topeka, formerly of Valley Falls, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, at a Topeka care facility. She was born Oct. 2, 1923, at Doniphan, the daughter of Louie Francis and May Bell Coder Langston. She lived at Rock Creek for 16 years before moving to Valley Falls in 1969. She had lived in Topeka since 2013. Marguerite was a homemaker. She had worked as a cafeteria cook for USD 338 in Valley Falls. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls. She married Clinton J. Mitchell, Jan. 5, 1944, at Pensacola, FL. He died June 11, 1975. She married Emery Zink, Sept. 20, 1986, at Valley Falls. He died Feb. 2, 1994. She was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Lorraine Orlowski; five brothers, Harold, Kenneth, Ernest, Lloyd and Lewis Langston; and two sisters, Ruby Hale and Florence Fullbright. Survivors include three sons, Louie (Sue) Mitchell and Ray (Rhonda) Mitchell, all of Valley Falls, and Randy (Pam) Mitchell, Hickman, NE; three daughters, Judy (B.J.) Snyder, Topeka, and Jean (Charles) Autry and Kay Jennings, all of Valley Falls; a step-daughter, Jo Ann Hofstra, Valley Falls; 19 grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls. Burial will be at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
