GALVESTON - Otto Lee Auzston Jr., 75, passed away on Wednesday, April 18,2001, at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. A chapel service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 20,2001, in the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home, Galveston, with Father Charles Tirrell, of Houston, officiating. Burial will follow services Friday at Calvary Cemetery, also in Galveston. Mr. Auzston's family will be receive friends for visitation at the funeral home Thursday, April 19, 2001. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening after 5 p.m.

Mr. Auzston was born on Galveston Island, June 24, 1925. For most of his adult life, he fished the waters of the Gulf of Mexico as a commercial fisherman. During this time he was able to build a broad knowledge and respect for the sea life and, until his illness prevailed, Mr. Auzston worked as a pilot boat captain for some ten years with Galtex Pilots. He was a very strong-willed individual, whose hard work and determination made him
the person that he was.

He leaves behind wonderful memories with his wife, Patricia Lou Auzston of Galveston; his daughter, Kathleen
A. Mensing and husband, Brannon, of Houston; and his son, Russell E. Auzston Sr. of Conroe, Texas. Sharing in this
loss, also, are Mr. Auzston's stepchildren, Valesta Silvers, of Joplin, Marcella Jackson, also of Missouri, and Lucky Auzston of Markham. Saddened, too, are Mr. Auzston's six loving grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, one greatgrandchild, five step greatgrandchildren, his sister, Mary L. Dabney and husband, Roy, of La Marque, Texas, his three brothers, Robert Michael Auzston, of Galveston, and Andrew John Auzston and wife, Elaine, also, of Galveston; numerous
nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and many friends. He will be sadly missed.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Renfroe, Raymond Burt,
David Q. Auzston, Danny Auzston, Christopher Allen, Jed Walters, Russell "Rusty" Auzston Jr. and Bill Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be Chubby West and Donald Allen III.
