Mrs. Baines was born Jan. 8, 1918, in Staten Island, N.Y., daughter of the late George and Edith (Prior) White.She was the wife of Kenneth G. Baines of Merrimack, to whom she was married for 64 years.
Mrs. Baines attended schools in Ridgewood, N.J., and worked as an office manager for several businesses in the Ridgewood area until her retirement.After retiring, she moved to Ocala, Fla., where she was active in starting the Church of the Advent, now located in Dunellen, Fla. She served as directress of the Altar Guild for many years and served on many other committees as well.
She was also active in the Eastern Star for many years. She returned to her beloved New Hampshire in 2001, and lived in Merrimack until her hospitalization.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Edith Atkins.Besides her husband, survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Caryl and Matthew Matsis of Merrimack, and Katherine and David Stoddard of Littleton; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Faith Episcopal Church, 590 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, Saturday, April 9, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Washington.
