Shawnee resident, Elgan Lyle Harrell Jr. passed away Monday, August 17, 2015. He was born April 25, 1932 in Mobeetie, TX., the only child of Elgan & Mary Cox Harrell. He graduated from Marlow High School in 1950 and was an active member of Faith Community Church of God for many years. He entered the Air Force in August 1952 and retired in 1979. He then went to work at Tinker Air Force Base & retired from civil service in 1989.

He was preceded in death by his mother & father.

He is survived by his wife, Alva Dean; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry & Claudia, Dean & Sherry and Curtis & Shelly; daughter and son-in-law, Elga & Max Walker; stepchildren, Dennis & Marsha Bullock and Carol & Bill Singletary; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Every Thursday he did services at the jail and on Friday's he sang at the rest home. Elgan was very active in the Gideons for many years, which he was very proud of. In lieu of flowers he requested Bibles be donated through the Gideons.

Funeral Service will be 10am Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Faith Community Church of God with The Pastor Kresten Norholm officiating. Interment will be 2pm Thursday, August 20 at Marlow Cemetery, Marlow, OK.
