IDA--Thomas E. Verdon, 79, died at 6:50 p.m. Sunday in the home of his son, Emery, of 3550 Pennington Rd, Clinton, of a heart ailment. Born July 23, 1874, in Ida Township, he was the son of William and Barbara Yarger Verdon. His wife, the former Mary Rauch, preceded him in death six years ago. He had been a member of Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church of LaSalle.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Joseph Kinsey of Monroe, two sons, Emery of Clinton and Ray of LaSalle, two brothers, George of Ida and William of LaSalle, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Capaul Funeral Home at Ida. The Rev. Gordon Everett of the Blissfield Evangelical United Brethren Church will officiate. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery at LaSalle.
