Herman Busenbark Jr., 89, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, in his home near Judson, Ind. He was born March 17, 1926, in New Market, Ind., the son of Herman A. Busenbark and Mabel Hunt Busenbark. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in September of 1944, and was honorably discharged that December for medical reasons. In his early years, Herman was an auctioneer, farmer, and had worked for Indiana Highway Department. He married Janet Evelyn Hartman on March 17, 1945. She preceded him in death on August 28, 2009.

He is survived by three daughters, Karen R. (Ben) Branson, Jonella K. Wallace and Catherine A. Forister; three sons, David L. (Linda) Busenbark, Roger D. Busenbark and Timothy (Judy) Busenbark; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur (Mary) Busenbark and Darvin Busenbark; and one sister, Alberta (Rodney) Alexander.

He was preceded by his parents; wife, Evelyn; two sons, Gary L. Busenbark and Ronald E. Busenbark; grandson, Rick E. Baker; great-grandson, Brandon Lyle Grundstrom; sister, Kate Connerley; and two brothers, Harold Busenbark and Hershel Busenbark.

Funeral services are 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 28, at Butler Funeral Home, 218 N. College St., Rockville, with Pastor Carl Huxford officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville, with military graveside rites by Parke Co. Veteran Organizations. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Butler Funeral Home.
