William D Bodish, 87, of Carmichaels, formerly of Pittsburgh, died at 2:30 am Friday, November 18, 2005, in Donnell House, Washington. He was born January 2, 1918 in Crucible, a son of Stephan and Sarah Knarr Bodish. Mr. Bodish worked at the former Crucible Fuel Co Mine for about 18 years before working as a carpenter in Pittsburgh. He retired in 1982 from Carpenters Local 211. He attended First Christian Church of Carmichaels and was a member of McKinley Stuckrath Lodge 318 F&AM of Pittsburgh. In June 1938 he married Betty Sue Jones, who died December 12, 1987. His companion was Maxine Jones, with whom he made his home, and his beloved sheltie was Bella. Surviving are a son, William R Bodish of Sewickley; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Bodish of Deltona, Fla; and two sisters, Elizabeth Mitchell of Pittsburgh and Sarah Kilcrece of Wisconsin. Deceased are a son, Gerald E Bodish; a brother, Edward Bodish and four sisters, Mae Hilderbrand, Celia Keys, Estelle Heiser and Ruth Miller. There will be no public viewing and a memorial service will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, November 26, in First Christian Church, Carmichaels with the Rev Reagan Fike officiating. A Luncheon will follow the service. Yoskovich Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
