Mrs. Leona Burden, 315 South Benton street, died suddenly at 9:05 p.m. Saturday at the Ottumwa hospital.
She was born in Davis county and lived most of her life in Eldon and Ottumwa. She lived in Chicago a few years.
She is survived by five sons, Earl of Arlington Heights, Ill., Roscoe of Chicago, Everett of Springville, Calif., M/Sgt. Olin in the marine corps stationed in Washington, D.C., and Ralph of Bellflower, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Florence Thompson of Ottumwa; a sister, Mrs. Estella Humphrey of Hollywood, Calif., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She as preceded in death by her husband, Victor in 1946, her parents, a sister and three brothers.
The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel awaiting completion of arrangements.
