Les joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946 as Chief Aviation Electronic TEHICI with a Federal Radio Television Operators License. During his service in the Navy, he met and married Lois LaBass in 1947 while stationed in Long Beach, CA
Les and Lois finally settled in Oroville in Northern California overlooking Lake Oroville. In 2002, Lois, his beloved wife of 55 years, passed away. Les relocated to Palm Desert to enjoy warm weather, golf and his family.
His ashes are to be reunited with his family plot in Iowa.
