Pueblo — Longtime Monte Vista resident Theresa Archuleta, 59, passed away on July 4, 2015. She was born on December 19, 1955 to Victor and Tillie Alire Archuleta in Monte Vista, Co.

Theresa graduated from Monte Vista High School in 1975. She was an active member of El Prado and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista and was the funeral meal coordinator for many services held at the church. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Theresa was an enthusiastic bingo player and would play all over the valley. She was the family event (holiday) planner, was very talented with her hands, whether it be working with arts and crafts or making culinary treats.

Above all, she cherished all of the time with her family, she took pride helping her boys set up for the car shows and took a lot of pride in watching them do what they loved. She treasured her time spent with her daughters, sharing with them her culinary and artistic gifts and she loved supporting her grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their ventures.

She is survived by her, sons Arthur Garza of Monte Vista and Joshua “Pete” (Lisa Duran) Garza of Pueblo, her daughters Joleen (Brian Wright) Garza and Chantillie Garza all of Monte Vista, her grandchildren, Yesenia Garza of Pueblo, Casamira Garza of Monte Vista, Adonia Garza of Monte Vista, Matthew Wright of Monte Vista and great grandchild Malachi Lozoya, her siblings, Gloria Archuleta, Alfred Lucero, Peggy Martinez, Judy Gurule, JoAnn Baca, Richard Santistevan and numerous other siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Christopher Lozoya and special friend Joe Garza.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Monday July 13, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will take place at 7pm on Sunday July 12, 2015 also at the church. Burial will follow services in the San Luis Valley Cemetery.
