Lloyd Gerald “Bud” Anderson Sr., 81, of Terre Haute, passed away Aug. 13, 2015, in his home, with his loving family by his side. He was born Feb. 20, 1934, to Lloyd Listen Anderson and Edna (Powell) Ferguson.
Bud served in the United States Marine Corps from July 1952 to 1955. He was a member of American Legion Post 104. He was the chief of the Burnett Fire Department in the early 1970’s. He retired from the Vigo County School Corporation and Alcan. His passion was flying. Bud was a private pilot and at one point built his own plane. He was a member of the Ultra Light Club.
Bud is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen (Kelso) Anderson; children, Lloyd G. Anderson Jr. (Dee Dee), Virginia (Anderson) Czachur (Jim), Martha (Anderson) Poff (Bill), and Charles Anderson; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Edgar Listen, Virginia Salmon and Phyllis Howard.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., Terre Haute, IN 47804. Pastor Rick Swan will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until services Saturday. Online condolences may be made at:
