John Thomas Akers was born in 1846 not 1840. Abner and Harriet were also the parents to Drucilla J. (1850-1878) and Margaret J. (1852-1878). Also, twins born in 1856, a girl and a boy were stillborn. Their youngest daughter Permelia Ann Akers Miles (1867-1957) also needs to be added to the list of children.

Another link is broken in our household band.
But a chain is forming in a better land.

Gravesite Details

Abner & Harriet share a marker. Abner's inscription is on the side facing Morningside Drive, and Harriet's faces out into the cemetery. Vandals knocked down the gravestone so only Harriet's side was visible. The restoration revealed Abner's side.
