Jack was the son of Henry Peterson and Cora Beal.

He was the loving husband of Eva Jones and beloved father of two. He was a graduate of Chandler High School and attended what is now Arizona State University.

Jack worked from 1932 to 1936 as a Arizona Highway Patrol officer and was highly regarded in his field. Later, he worked as a car salesman in Tempe. Tragically, along with his co-worker Ellis Koury, he was murdered by a college student posing as a potential customer.
