MAC J. BROWNE DIES THURSDAY
News was received here Thursday of the death of Mr. Mac J. BROWNE which had just occurred at Austin. Mr. BROWNE had been in failing health for a number of years and some three or four weeks ago he was carried to Austin for treatment in a state institution. Mr. BROWNE was about 50 years of age and was reared in Fairfield. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and the Fairfield Masonic Lodge. He was upright moral Christian man and his death is regretted by
all. He is survived by his wife and three children. We have not learned funeral plans but his body will be brought here for burial.

TRIBUTE TO MEMORY OF M. J. BROWNE
To the worshipful Master, Wardens, and Brethren of Fairfield Lodge No.
103 A. F. & A. M.

We the committee on resolutions up on the death of Bro. M. J. BROWNE summit here with our report: Bro. BROWNE was born at Fairfield on the 20 day of Nov. 1873. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zata BROWNE and three children.

Bro. BROWNE was a zealous Christian and honest and upright citizen, dependable and courageous in respecting and protecting the bright in every deporting himself as becomes a patriot and a mason.

Therefore be it resolved that in the death of Bro. BROWNE another soldier has been taken from the field of honor. Our citizenship has suffered the loss of a patriot and Christianity has loss a champion of truth and virtue, and our fraternity is deprived of the cancel and comradeship of a true and worthy brother who was true to his convictions of good citizenship, honesty and right.

Be it further resolved that these resolutions be spread on the minutes of this lodge and that the secretary be instructed to mail one copy to the wife of our deceased brother and another copy handed to the Fairfield Recorder for publication.
