DOUGLAS PIONEER'S DAUGHTER PASSES
Word was received here last night by Miss Carrie Dixon of the death at Portland of her cousin, Mrs. E.L. (Belle Livingston)McClure, former resident of Douglas County. Mrs. McClure's death occurred Saturday.
She was the daughter of Elijah Livingston, one of Douglas Counties first Sheriffs. Her mother was Mary Boggs Livingston. Mrs. McClure was born near Green, where she spent her early life.
Her grandfathers, Thomas Livingston, who settled on the old Dixon ranch at Dixonville, and James Boggs, who located at Green, came over the Oregon Trail to the Oregon country in 1852. Her parents were the first couple to be married in this county by the late Rev. W.A. Smick.

Belle McClure's cremains are stored in the Tower - this means no access to this area for photos. It is a place where cremains are held when family doesn't make burial arrangements.
