Mabelle E. Powell, 104, of Milton, Ky., and Prospect, Ky., died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, at the home of her daughter in Prospect.
She was born May 21, 1900, in Patton's Creek, Ky., the daughter of Thomas and Nannie Belle Butler Kidwell. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Milton Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Imogene Sloane of Prospect; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A private burial was held today at the Bedford, Ky., IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. EDT Saturday at the Milton Baptist Church, with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center, 3702 Brownsboro Road, Louisville, KY 40207. Envelopes will be available at the church.
The Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton was in charge of arrangements.
