Dwight died Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at his son's home in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Dwight S. Bignell was born March 6, 1935 in Bartlett, Nebraska to Fred and Minnie (Shawen) Bignell. He graduated from Fremont High School. Dwight served in the U.S. Marines from September 1955 - September 1958. He married Carol Jean Wilson on August 11, 1956 in Fremont. They moved to Columbus in 1974. Dwight worked for Lindsay Manufacturing until retiring. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
