LAYTON - Karen Mildred Child Ray, 82, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015.
Mom was born February 28, 1933 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of J. Marvin and Oneta Wilson Child.
Mom married her best friend Leon George Ray on December 27, 1954, for the next 48 years they were virtually inseparable. They enjoyed camping with the Layton J.C.'s, bowling regularly in leagues at Davis Lanes, and laughing with their children and grandchildren. This continued till his death on July 14, 2002.
Mom retired from Hill Air Force Base. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, knitting and attending plays and concerts. Her favorite thing was spending time with family, and her special friend, Rowdy Dog.
Surviving are her daughters, Julie (Vern) Wood, Shelly (Roger) Nielsen, Lori (Fred Hughes) Nutter, six grandchildren, Tyson (Ryan), Clint (Jennifer), Jessica (Kenny), Candice, Bailey, Dylan, Cory, 14 great-grandchildren and her sister, Carol (Leo) Beus.
Preceded in death by her husband, parents and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, So. Ogden.
