Vera Marie Ohl Bufkin

Vera Marie Ohl Bufkin, 95, of Evansville passed away at 5:25 pm, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Newburgh Healthcare.
Vera was born May 13, 1920 in Henderson, Kentucky the daughter of the late Reverend Ira and Vera (Benham) Kerr. Vera had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1925, where she was director of the homebound committee and secretary of Philathea Sunday School Class. She had also been secretary of WMU, member of Welborn Auxiliary for 18 years and secretary of Culver Neighborhood Association, in addition to starting the library at Culver Elementary School. Vera had worked for 12 years as a secretary at Smith and Butterfield before retirement. She loved to travel and had visited all 50 states plus the Bahamas.
She is survived by son, Daniel Ohl (Monetta) of Newburgh, IN; grandchildren, Kristi Horton (John) of Newburgh, IN, Shelia Fletcher (Rick) of Boonville, IN and Anne Marie Morrical (Tony) of Evansville; several great-grandchildren; 2 nieces and several great nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Edward Ohl in 1944, second husband, Hubert Bufkin in 1978, son, Donald Ohl in 2012 and was the last survivor of her siblings.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm, Friday, August 14, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville (812) 437-5300 with Reverend Ferd Elfreich officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Evansville.
