Jerry J Callahan, 66, of Vermillion, SD died Sunday, May 7, at the Sioux Valley Vermillion Hospital.

Jerry was born October 21, 1939 in Sioux Falls, SD to Clarence and Margaret (Collins) Callahan. He graduated from the Cathedral High School in Sioux Falls, and attended Creighton University for two years, and the University of South Dakota for one year.

Jerry married Katy Moberg, and they owned and operated Serv-A-Check in Vermillion for over 25 years, and Jerry partially retired in 2005.

Jerry was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion, the Knights of Columbus, the Eagles, Past President of the Vermillion Chamber, and past Jaycee member. He was also a past member of the Toastmasters, a graduate of Dale Carnegie, a member of the American Collectors Association, SD Collectors Association, USD Foundation, and Dakota Homestead.

Jerry is survived by his wife Katy of Vermillion, his daughter Christy (Sean) Herschberger of Vermillion, and a brother Richard (Celeste) Callahan of Denver, CO.

Burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Vermillion.
