Ermelinda M. Padilla, age 89, a resident of El Porvenir, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Ermelinda was born on August 6, 1926 to Leonardo Maestas and Juanita Alires in El Porvenir, New Mexico.
A Catholic, she was a member and Mayordoma of San Antonio Catholic Church in El Porvenir, NM. Ermelinda was also a member of Legion of Mary and Santo Niño Choir and a foster grandparent.
Ermelinda was preceded in death by her husband, José Sabino Padilla, sons, Roy Padilla, Jerry Padilla and Johnny Padilla and granddaughter, Michelle García.
Ermelinda is survived by her daughters, Arabella García and her husband, Navor of Gallinas, NM, Diane Baca and her husband, Victor of Las Vegas, NM and Esther Marrujo and her husband, Johnny of Albuquerque, NM, son, Floyd A. Padilla and his wife, Lupe of Albuquerque, NM, thirteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM. Funeral services will be conducted following the Rosary with Father Douglas Mitchell as Celebrant. Burial of cremains will follow at San Antonio Cemetery in El Porvenir, NM.
