She lived in Lorain, Ohio for 46 years before moving to Avon Lake in 2002. She graduated from Slippery Rock High School, PA and during the 1950's worked as a Supervisor with Bell Telephone of PA. In 1970 she managed the jewelry department at Hills Dept Store in Lorain for 17 years. She continued having lunch once a month with the Hills co-workers for years. During all of her working years she also was a homemaker.
Joretta enjoyed watching sports, especially the NBA and the NFL on TV. She was a dog and wildlife lover, feeding the squirrels in her back yard. In her spare time she dabbled in floral design and enjoyed walking the beach on family vacations to Hilton Head. Most of all she enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting and school events.
Joretta's funeral was private Saturday, at Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Rd., Avon Lake, OH with Pastor Ronald Young of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Westlake, presiding. Interment followed at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
