Donald E. Sloat, resident of Sebastian, Fla., passed away Aug. 8, 2015.

He was born Jan. 17, 1933 in Sayre, Pa. He was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, New York, and Rollins College, Florida, was a Korean War Navy veteran, and retired from IBM.

He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Harriet Sloat, brother Daniel (Bud) Sloat, sister Charlotte (Sloat) Loomis, brother Sanford (Timer) Sloat, twin sister Diane (Davis) Sloat, and son William (Bill) Sloat.

He was the beloved husband of Veronica (Velardo) Sloat; loving father of Donald Jr. (spouse Deborah), Linda (spouse Mark Nabinger), Richard (spouse Kellie); and a loving grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend and mentor to many.

A celebration of his life will be held in Sebastian, Fla., in November 2015.
