Josephine (Joise) was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 9, 1929. When just a teen, Josephine and her brother joined the Holtzhacker Bavarian Schuplatting Club. There the learned to dance, sing and carry on their Bavarian customs. At one of the club’s social gatherings she met Herman, the love of her life. They were united in marriage on September3, 1949, and spent 65 wonderful years together. Since Herman belonged to the Wendlstona, she soon joined that group. There she sang and danced. The Wendlstoana put on a show once a year. In addition to dancing and singing they put on 2 or 3 act German language plays. During these plays, Josie’s place was in the prompter box. From there she would help the actors with their lines.

Josie and Herman would love to go hiking and identifying and picking mushrooms. Josie was an excellent cook. She loved to watch cooking shows and spending time with her grandchildren.

Later on, Josephine and Herman spent their winters in Seminole, Florida, for 8 years. After Herman retired, it was full time fun in the sun, until they relocated back to Wisconsin in 2010, due to health issues.
