Freddy C. Roach, 66, Deming resident, passed away Saturday July 22, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Eric Freking officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 at Mountain View Cemetery.
He was born December 26, 1939 in Alamogordo to Margarete Evans and Vaughn T. Roach. On December 7, 1957 he married A. Deloris Cranford in Silver City. Freddy worked as a farmer and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church where he was the head Deacon and had also been an Elder. He loved his family and spending time with them. His hobbies were cutting and polishing rocks, bird watching and he loved being out in nature.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris; a son, Donald Frederick Roach (Carol) of Deming; 4 daughters, Kay Lynette Roach Johnson (Jim) of Ft. Worth, TX, Jackie Ann Roach of Sulphur, OK, Vaughnda Kathleen Roach Gerling (Russell) of Moore, OK, Brenda K. Taylor of Albuquerque;
a sister, Geraldine Nelson of Anthony, NM; 9 grandchildren, James E. Johnson III, Jonathan D. and Kayse L. Johnson, Adrianne M., DeeAnn J., Amber D., Jeremiah V.F. and Jamie K. Roach, Russell L. Gerling II and 6 great grandchildren, Valerie C. and Austin James Johnson, Slayer, Evan, Cheyenne and Seven Roach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vaughn and Margarete Roach and a sister, Marsha Roach.
