Lucy Florence Post was born in Illinois, December 23, 1864, and died at her home near Ashton, Kans., June 25, 1906, and was buried in Mount Hope cemetery, June 26, Rev. Gibson, of Winfield, conducting the ceremony.
She was married to W.P. Shelhamer at Olathe, Kansas in December 1884. To this union were born seven children, all of whom are living and are at home.
Although not having connected herself to any church in early life, she professed faith in God and was baptized by Rev. Waitt, of Arkansas City, June 15. She was a most loving wife and affectionate mother and by her gentle disposition had made a large circle of friends, who join in extending to the bereaved husband and family, the tenderest of sympathies.
