Sarolyn Hooten Pennington Moore at 92 years young, passed quietly on the afternoon of the 19th of January 2015, rejoining her loved ones who passed before. Sarolyn is the daughter of Sally Burney Hooten Pennington and Marvin Emery Pennington. She married James Wilkinson Moore, also of Milledgeville, and they lived together for 62 years until his death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her younger sister Gloria Ann Pennington Martin of Augusta, Ga. She leaves behind her son, James Pennington Moore his wife Lydia Lynn Ellis Moore of Lilburn, Ga and daughter Sally Pennington Moore and her husband Michael Kerry Brown of Houston, Tx There are three grandsons and three great grands as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her elder sister Mary Floyd Pennington Clark of Chevy Chase, Md.

Sarolyn graduated from Georgia College for Women and before her marriage was a model in New York City. She spent most of her working career in various positions within the Federal Government retiring from the U.S. Department of Labor. Sarolyn was active in many community and regional groups including the 17th Century Dames, the Nancy Hart Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Friends of the Cemetery, the Garden Club and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Milledgeville. She was a gifted writer of poetry and prose and a wonderful story-teller. She had an avid love for decorating and gardening and was a truly creative individual. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her so much.

A family graveside memorial will be held on the Pennington plot in Milledgeville's Memory Hill Cemetery at a later time.
