MADILL -- Services for Jewel Maxine Ketchum Ayres, 75, will be Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Watts Memorial Chapel with Richard Jones officiating. Interment will be in Woodberry Forest Cemetery.

Maxine passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2006, at the Ardmore hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Kay County, Okla., to Jessie Austin and Thelma Ida Blackorbay Ketchum on April 16, 1931.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Sue Ayres; her parents; a granddaughter, Alana Taylor Wesley; and a great-granddaughter, Brittney Wesley.

She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City in 1949 and married Donald Gene Ayres Sr. on Oct. 16, 1949, in DeQueen, Ark. She was a homemaker and member of the Madill Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Kingston; three children, Donald Gene Ayres Jr., and wife, Mary, and Gary Ayres, and wife, Paula, all of Madill, and Mary Ann Taylor, and husband, Ron, Ada; a brother and sister-in-law, Merle and Patricia Ketchum, Newcastle; Maxine was loving referred to as "Mama" to 12 grandchildren, Donald Gene Ayres III, Indianapolis, Christi Ayres Idleman, Madill, Gary Don and Kim Ayres, Ardmore, Justin Ayres, Madill, Stephanie Taylor, Ada, Ashley Ayres Allen and Tyler Allen, Kingston, Brooke and Eric Davis, Lebanon, Waylon and Amanda Lott, Cumberland, and Sy Wesley, Oklahoma City; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher, Dylan, Harlee, Whitney, Shyann, Kyndal, Brayden and Grace; sisters-in-law, LaVada Ayres, Tulsa, Lucille Murray and Lucyette Ayres, Madill; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Martha Ayres, Madill; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Bearers will be Donald Ayres III, Gary Don Ayers, Justin Ayres, Waylon Lott, Eric Davis and Tyler Allen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Pettijohn Springs Christian Camp or American Cancer Society.
