SPRINGFIELD, VT - Lyle M. McLeod 89, passed away on Saturday June 27, 2015 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in White River Jct., Vermont.

He was born October 16, 1925 in Burlington, VT the son of Ray H. and Florence (Hayden) McLoud.

He attended schools in Northern VT and later attended Northwest University.

He served in the United States Navy during WW II.

On February 10, 1955, he married Marlene L. Cochran in Burlington, Vermont.

He worked as a farm hand in Northern, VT in his youth, worked at the Crown Point Country Club in Springfield, Great Eastern Machine Tool and later as a Machinist for Bryant Grinder Co. in Springfield, VT for many years, retiring in 1997.

He enjoyed target shooting and shooting competitions, he enjoyed trains, and tinkering on and repairing things.

He is survived by his wife, 3 sons, 4 daughters, 1 sister, 18 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by 1 brother Blaine and 2 sisters : Barbara and Josephine.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vermont.
