Rita (Sunny) M. David born in Haleyville, Alabama passed away in Foley, Alabama.
She had written a children's book, "Deion Runs Again," and "The Lost Bay: A History of Perdido Bay and Perdido Key.
She was a newspaper reporter for 15 years. Rita received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Samford University in Birmingham and a master's degree in communication from the University of Wisconsin. Rita has been on the reporting staffs of the Pensacola News Journal, the Tampa Tribune, the Fresno Bee and the Atlanta Constitution. She also spent 30 years with the Federal Government working in Public Relations positions with the Army, the Veterans Administration, and the U.S. Forest Service.
