John was a 2009 graduate of Guilford High School and worked for Hickory Creek Outdoors. He was an associate member of Springfield Friends Meeting.
He loved water boating, riding See-Doos, being outdoors, fishing, and hanging out with family and friends. He collected knives and was a Duke basketball and Alabama football fan.
He had two daughters that he adored and he referred to them as "Love."
He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Barber; his grandparents, Wiley Safriet and Iris Safriet; great grandfather, Loftin Wilson McLamb, Sr., and other great grandparents.
