Samuel C Brown (17Jan 1861), Simeon H Brown (15 April 1851) & Ada Estella Brown were children of Simeon Hovey Brown and Harriet Melissa Curt. When Simeon went off to war (Civil war), and after time Harriet (his wife ) could not provide for them on 12/1/1869, they were placed in Mercer County orphanage until Simeon returned from war. His three children Samuel, Simeon & Ada were there until they could provide for themselves. Their father was killed at the Battle of Bull run , 2nd massacre on Aug 29, 1862. Simeon was in the 100th regiment Co: G. Pennsylvania. Service application # was WC22701. The children: Simeon became a photographer in New York, Samuel was a wagon maker and Ada Estella was a school teacher.
