The funeral for Dorlene M. Murray, 86, of Fremont will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Fremont.

She died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

She was born Sept. 23, 1921, in Stromsburg to William and Mary (Fellows) Nelson. She grew up in Stromsburg and moved to York in 1938. She moved to Central City in 1951 and then to Fremont in 1958. She was employed at Campbell Soup Co. in Fremont from 1958 to 1973. She returned to York in 1973 and worked at the laundromat. In 1977, she moved to Arlington and worked for Dr. Jack Cady. She moved back to Fremont in 1996.

She married Cecil C. Weldon Sr. on July 3, 1938, in York. He died in March 1972. She married Leonard W. Murray on April 7, 1973, in Fremont.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fremont and the Lydia Circle. She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 200 of Fremont and the Retired Eagles Activity Club. She also was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 8332 and American Legion Auxiliary Post 71, both of Arlington.

Survivors include: her husband, Leonard; a daughter, Patsy (and husband, Will) Prusia of Fremont; son-in-law, Wayne Johnson of York; daughter-in-law, Mary Weldon of Fremont; a sister, Elsie Skinner of Redland, Calif.; sister-in-law, Anita Nelson of Fremont; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Cecil C. Weldon; a daughter, Karen Johnson; three brothers, Kenneth, Earl and Elmer Nelson and five sisters, Maude Nelson, Nettie Maiker, Mary Lounsberry, Eva Stoki and Myrtle Boatwright.

The Revs. Leland Foreman and Walter Hickman will officiate Friday’s service. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with family receiving friends from 3-5 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

A memorial has been established to First Baptist Church.
