Catherine Latta (Shakespear) Rockenfield was the child of John M. Shakespear and Mary Anne Ervin McKinley. Married George Washington Rockenfield Nov. 28th 1832 in Montgomery County Ohio. lived in Clark County Ohio in 1840 and was on the 1840 Census as a Roconfield. lived in Delaware County Indiana as some of her children were born there and was on the 1860 Livingston County, MO. Census living in Chillicothe. Moved to Adams County Illinois before 1865 as they were on the 1865 Illinois State Census of Adams County in Ellington Township.Lived in Quincy, IL. and also Columbus Township of Adams CO. Husband George Washington Rockenfield died in 1881 in Adams County no known burial place for him ,but I believe he may be buried in Concord Township. Catherine and her son George Andrew Rockenfield and his family moved to Lewis County MO. in 1897 and she died shortly after. As they lived in Salem Township in section 9. Her Grand daughter Theresa (Rockenfield) Gross told me that she is buried in Primm Cemetery South of the small Town of Tolona, MO. There is no Headstone and I was not able to take her to the cemetery so that she could show me the exact spot where Catherine is buried. The cemetery is on the land owned by a Raleigh family and it is in the back in a field North of their home. The cemetery is over grown with weeds and brush as the County abandoned the road that used to be near there. Ken Benner Aug. 6th 2015
