Albuquerque, N.M. - BASIMA A. DAVIS, 98, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in Albuquerque.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 23, 2006, in the Marlow Cemetery, with Pastor Dale Blare officiating. Services are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Basima was born Monday, January 20, 1908 in the Oak Grove Community near Marlow, Oklahoma, to the late Ruel and the late Margaret Lee (Murphy) Barry. Basima received her bachelor's degree from OCW. She married Dee Davis in 1932 in Zaneis, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death in 1969. Basima lived in many areas in the United States, and most of them only for a short time. They include Tyler, Dallas, Houston, and Midland, Texas; Piedmont and Los Angeles, Calif.; Seattle, Wash.; New Orleans, La.; Denver, Colo.; Louisville, Ky.; and Albuquerque. Basima was a housewife and a member of the PEO and Methodist Church in Midland, Texas.
Survivors include a son, David Davis of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, Diana and Michael; three great-grandchildren, Nicole, Max and Christopher.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
