J.E. "Pete" Harwell, of Rt.2, Cameron died Thursday morning in a Rosebud
hospital following a long illness.
Funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of The Green Funeral Home in
Cameron with Rev. James E. Lafferty and Rev. Norval Barnes officiating. Burial
was in the Little River Cemetery.
Mr. Harwell was born May 6, 1903 in Milam County. He was the constable for the
city of Cameron from 1939 to 1941. Until his retirement in 1959 he was a special
officer for Humble Oil Co. in Houston.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lois Harwell of Cameron' one son, Lane Harwell of
Aransas Pass; one granddaughter and one great grandson.
