She was born May 15, 1920 in Carmi, the only child of the late William and
May (Roser) Ramming. She married Ronald Ackerman, and he preceded her in death.
She was a lifelong member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and was the
church organist for over 50 years. She served as a P.T.A. president, Carmi
Township Hospital Auxiliary treasurer, was a member of the Carmi Home
Culture Club and was a two-time recipient of Home Culture Woman of the Year.
She assisted her husband, Ronald, with his Standard Oil distributorship and
began her business career as assistant circuit clerk under Millage Carter.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Richard Guinn of
Philadelphia, Pa., and one granddaughter, Clare R. Guinn of New York City, New York.
