She was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Hobson to Estelle and Lula Mae (Smith) Boyd. Dorothy married Victor Lyles on Dec. 24, 1940, in Nixon.
Her husband and parents, as well as a brother, Hollis Boyd, preceded her in death.
Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Alberta Allen and Barbara English, both of San Antonio; and nephews Chuck Miller, Steve Brewer, and Rick Brewer, all of San Antonio, Bill Brewer of La Vernia, and Rob Brewer of Crosby.
Visitation was held Sunday, July 9, from 6-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Home Chapel in Nixon.
A funeral service took place on Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Chuck Miller officiating, followed by interment in the Nixon Cemetery.
