Mary was the daughter of Linus P. Gillis and Bessie J. McCoy Gillis. She was raised at Palermo, New York and Throop, New York and Auburn, New York where her father was first a farmer and later a carpenter; and where her mother was a school teacher. Mary married to Hugh Kenneth Adair about 1940 and relocated to Delhi where her husband operated a large dairy farm. Family trees on ancestry indicate that they had four children; two of whom I found in records were Kathleen Adair and Kenneth P. Adair.
