Lois graduated from Belvidere High School in 1945 where she was the manager of the girls' basketball team and was also a cheerleader. Lois met Al and they married and began their live together in September, 1946. They worked for her family restaurant, the Ranch -O- (now Luigi's) in Belvidere, NJ for a number of years. In 1961 they opened Cliffdale Park Inn on Route 57 in Mansfield Twp. There, they lived and worked side by side with their family for 44 years.
Lois & Al enjoyed their yearly trips to Florida, the Jersey Shore and their house in the Pocono's but Cliffdale was always home with so many fond memories of time spent with family and friends. Upon Al's death in 2005 after 59 years together, Lois continued on at the restaurant as the hostess until it was sold in 2008. She so enjoyed greeting everyone and making them feel welcomed. One of Lois greatest traits was her generosity to others.
She loved flowers, decorating for every holiday, cooking, entertaining and especially listening to music as she entered her golden years. Her fortitude was amazing, always starting the day "looking pretty". She was ready for any fun activity the day might bring. She had a life well lived. Lois life was always surrounded by the family she so cherished and in return, they cherished her.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Alexis Siegfried and her husband, Bill of Mansfield Twp. Her Granddaughters, whom she adored, Laurie Tartaglia and her husband Nick; Lexis McCoy and her husband Rik of Hackettstown, NJ. Her precious great grandchildren, Anthony and Niya Tartaglia & Owen McCoy. Her loving sister and best friend with whom she spent many fun filled days, Carmen Govan of Hackettstown, NJ. Her devoted and dedicated caregivers at Warren Haven as well as hospice. She is also survived by 2 Aunts & an Uncle, many nieces, Nephews and cousins. Lastly, Lois was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in Hackettstown.
Visitation and a Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Viewing hours will be from 12:30 to 2:30pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. Immediately following the viewing, the funeral mass will take place at St. Mary's Church, 305 High St., Hackettstown, NJ with Fr. David Pekola presiding.
