Clarence Gower

BELOIT - Clarence A. Gower, Noss Road, died Friday afternoon after suffering a heart attack in his home.

He was born Aug. 28, 1877, and spent 56 years farming on Noss Road near Afton. He was married to Myrtle Kellogg Feb. 9, 1898 and she preceded him in death May 26, 1954. He was a member of the former Afton Baptist Church and the Modern Woodmen of America.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Langdon White, Rte. 5, Janesville; two grandsons, Wayne White, Rte. 2, and Ray white, Rte. 5, both of Janesville; a granddaughter, Mrs. Evelyn Schumuck, Battle Creek, Mich.; 10 great-grandchildren. A son, Russell, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Mortuary, the Rev. Cyrus Welch, pastor of Footville Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
