Aunt TT was a petite blond. I weighed 100 lbs and had trouble getting into her clothes. She moved to New Orleans from Oklahoma and decided she wanted to sound local so she acquired an accent that would have made any woman "Southern" proud. That voice absolutely dripped magnolias and mint julips. She was loving, caring, compassionate and kind. My best childhood memories center around her. She always made me feel special.
Her first husband, Boyd Felty, died young and is also buried in Memorial Park Cemetery as is her second husband Charles Bradley. Her sister, Bonnie Housmon Dixon, and parents, Claude Sylvester Housmon and Nannie (Nancy Cornelia) Graves Housmon are also buried there.
The Department of Education, State of Oklahoma awarded Thelma H. Felty a certificate authorizing her to teach English and Social Science to 7th-12th graders on the 6th of May 1935.Central State Teachers College, Edmond, Oklahoma awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree to Thelma Roberta Housmon Felty May 20, 1935.
