Joseph Gerhard Aastad, 89, Vining, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at TriCounty Hospital in Wadena.
He was born July 20, 1915, near Fergus Falls, to Ole and Martha Aastad. He grew up in Aastad Township, near Fergus Falls and attended school there. He and his father lived at Wall Lake and Staples, Minn., before he settled in Folden township in 1940. He lived and worked in Folden doing primarily custom trucking for area farmers. He sold his truck and retired in 2000.
He leaves no family and is survived by his friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
