Professional Football Player. Brown was a running back for the NFL's Buffalo Bills from 1977 to 1982 and the 1983 Houston Oilers. He played college football at the University of Missouri. Brown was a third round draft pick for the Buffalo Bills in the 1977 NFL Draft. His best year was in 1978 when he took over from O.J. Simpson as he rushed for 591 yards on 128 attempts. Brown would crack the 500 yard mark the next two seasons and help lead the Bills to the AFC East title in 1980. During his pro career he rushed for 2,171 yards and scored nine touchdowns. During his later years, Brown received treatment for football-related dementia.
