Scott Allen Black passed away Sept. 19, 2011. The Lord took him from us too soon at the young age of 42.
Scott was born May 22, 1969, in San Jose, Calif., but came to Dorris at the age of 3 with his parents Don and Gail Black and his sisters Rae Ann and Mindy.
He completed his K-12 education in Dorris and went on to realize his dream of becoming a truck driver. After 20 years on the road, Scott returned to help his family on the farm in Dorris, where he spent the last two years.
Scott left behind a lifetime of fond memories. Anyone who knew him will remember his love of big-rig trucks, his warmth and easy smile, his lightning-quick sense of humor, his inexhaustible supply of jokes or, most of all, his generosity and giving spirit.
He will be missed by all of us, but will live on in our hearts and in our memories. We will be forever indebted to Scott for the gifts of laughter and kindness that he gave so freely and without reservation.
Scott leaves behind his parents Don and Gail, fiancee Jennifer Galland, sister Rae Ann Lewis, sister Mindy Hill and her husband Bill, niece and nephew Lydia and Spencer Hill, and many other family members and friends.
