Albert Motz, of Inver Grove, aged seventeen, and Alvin Muller, of St. Paul, aged sixteen, were drowned in Barton’s Slough, about four miles below the Grove, last Saturday afternoon, while in bathing. Coroner Mertz was summoned, but held no inquest The funeral was held on Monday. Hastings Gazette, Saturday, August 15, 1908.
