Henrietta May Monroe-Jeffers passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. She was born on October 28, 1919, in Roodhouse, Illinois, to parents John "Henry" and Emily May Stauffer-Monroe. She married Orlan "Jeff" Jeffers on Saturday, May 30, 1936 in a single ring ceremony in the offices of the Justice of the Peace, C.S.Smith. The couple were attended by the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Joy Allean Jeffers-Shipley and her husband Austin B. Shipley. To this union, two children were born.

Henrietta is survived by her two children, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and two step grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Martha Veralee Emhoff, two brothers, John "Doc" and Raymond Monroe, one grandson, and one great grandson.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Pastor Dave Kelly officiated. Visitation was from 12-Noon until 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interred at Greenpond Cemetery near Pearl in Pike County.
