Cecile Ambs Marasco, 79, passed away peacefully July 27, 2015, at her home in South Bethany, Indiana.
The youngest of nine children, Cecile was born in Dugger, Indiana.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret; her son, Angelo (wife Nancy) of Denver, Colorado; her daughters, Faith (husband Wade) of Houston, Texas, Grace (husband Rob) of Boone, North Carolina, and Hope (husband Blake) of Durham, North Carolina; and her seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her former, husband Bob Marasco, who passed in 1993.
Cecile loved Jesus, growing flowers, and playing music with friends and family in front of her fireplace. One of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 23, "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."
On Saturday, August 1, at 5 p.m., friends and family are invited to gather at Cecile's homestead at 13271 West Youth Camp Road for a celebration of her life. At 6 p.m. there will be an opportunity to share personal reflections on Cecile's life. This will be an outdoor event, so please wear comfortable footwear. Dress is casual. Feel free to bring a light potluck dish to share.
Cecile will be laid to rest at Haislup Cemetery on White Horse Road.
In lieu of flowers, those who would like are welcome to donate in Cecile's name to the Foxfire Fund Inc. at P.O. Box 54, Mountain City, GA 30562 or www.foxfire.org/donations.aspx.
Arrangements were entrusted to Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th St.
