William C. Barker, son of Columbus Barker, founder of the Peninsula lumber company and for many years prominent western timberman who died in 1907, died here yesterday. He had been an invalid for a number of years. Funeral arrangements are in charge of J. P. Finley & Son.

Mr. Barker was born in Bay City, Mich., in 1885 and came to Portland in [illegible]. He attended school at Bay City and later at Morgan Park academy in Chicago. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Alexander and Mrs. Alice R. Gaenzle, both of Los Angeles. During the world war he saw service in the United States navy.
