William Parker married first, at Scituate, April 1639, Mary Rawlins whom he had at least five children; she died August 1651. He married second, 13 November 1651, Mary Turner, daughter of Humphrey and Lydia of Scituate; she was baptized 25 Jan. 1634 and died between 1 Mar. 1703/4 and 2 Mar. 1705/6.

Thus we see she was only seventeen when she married William Parker, who was many years older.

William Parker had two sons named William, one by each wife; the birth of the first one was recorded but not his death; and the second William was born so much later, probably his last child by his younger second wife, that it seemed logical (as
the earlier writers supposed) to place him as son of the William first recorded and as grandson of William1.

Also, to complicate matters, there were two daughters named Mary, one by each wife, the first being the oldest of his children. Her birth and baptism were recorded but not her marriage. She had one child and died soon after under tragic circumstances, as will be related.

The second Mary was by the second wife and one of the last children. Neither birth nor baptismal record was found for her, but proof came to light from other sources...
